Hotel Reservations

I've been told that some people have been having trouble with getting the room reservation booked at the Shilo for the wedding. I went in to try and solve the problem. When you call, call the Idaho Falls Shilo directly (208)523-0088 and tell them you want to book a room under the Brown/Gomez wedding. If they say they can't find the reservation, tell them there should be a note at the front desk. Then, just make sure they give you the right deals ($69 a night, free breakfast, and a river view room). They are hopefully going to get this fixed soon, but the person in charge was not available. Things To Do In and Around Idaho Falls

Activities within walking distance of the hotels: ***WALK AROUND THE GREENBELT: There is a path that loops around part of the Snake River that is often frequented by kids, adults, geese, and ducks. The whole loop is just over 2 miles long. ***TOUR DESTINATIONS INN: Destinations Inn is a unique themed hotel in downtown Idaho Falls. They have rooms that are themed after popular destinations all over the world. They allow you to tour the rooms between 1-4pm. It's fun and interesting to see what they have come up with. ***COLONIAL THEATER: The Colonial Theater has different shows and events throughout the year as well as some nice architecture. *EASTERN IDAHO VISITOR'S CENTER: Located near the river, the Visitor's center has an abundance of information and ideas for keeping busy while in Idaho Falls. ***MUSEUM OF IDAHO: While you are here, the Museum of Idaho will be showing the exhibit "King Tut". The exhibits at this museum tend to be pretty good and always include "The History of Idaho" exhibit downstairs. ***UNION PACIFIC: Visit this great snow cone "shack" that is located in an old train car. They are delicious and you can add ice cream to them too! :) RESTAURANTS/FOOD WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE HOTELS: *Snow Eagle Brewing *Applebee's *Chili's *Snakebite *Denny's *Outback Steakhouse *Vino Rosso (wine bar) *Il Castello *Great Harvest Bread Company *Villa Coffeehouse *The Celt (opening soon) *The Bistro off Broadway *Dim Sum *Frosty Gator *Plum Loco *Jaker's *Rutabaga's *Whitewater Grill *Wasabi *Jalisco's. I can give recommendations for some of these restaurants if requested. :)

Accommodations

We are still checking around to try and find the best deals for everyone! As of now, the front runner is looking like Best Western Driftwood Inn, which is located right on the beautiful Snake River. When we have nailed down the best prices, I will be sure to update. I promise it will be soon! :)

Wedding Weekend Itinerary

Wedding activities will be primarily on Saturday and Monday (of course!). Exact times are still being decided. When we have finalized the schedule, I will make sure to update everyone with this blog.

Wedding Gift Registry

Brad and I are registered at Target. You can find it under either of our names in the store or online at target.com/wedding. We also just bought a house, so gift cards to Lowe's Home Improvement would also be greatly appreciated.

Brad and Jessica's Wedding

Brad and I are getting married on September 3rd, 2012 at the Historic Shelton in Idaho Falls. To see pictures of the venue, go to their website, www.shindigenterprises.com.
